How to Eat Mangosteen

One of my favorite fruits in Thailand is the mangosteen which is in season at the moment. It’s regarded as a “super fruit” due to it medicinal properties. It can be a bit difficult to eat as the purple will stain your hands and clothes if you are not careful. I’ve always opened them with a segregated knife. But this illustration seems to offer a much easier way to open them. I will try that next time.

    I always run my thumb nail around the fruit’s girth, but this method definitely seems cleaner and faster…

    had no idea they had medicinal benefits before…I love these fruit just for the flavour
