Floods on the BTS Skytrain Carriages

One of the most widely shared picture on social media today was this one taken by Tang Siripatra. This afternoon Bangkok experienced a very big thunderstorm. Not only was there heavy rain, but also a strong wind. This produced horizontal rain. On Twitter there was speculation that the carriages were leaking. But that wasn’t true. What happened was that the train stopped at Ari station for an extended period of time. The wind then blew the rain into the carriage causing it to flood.
