Hundreds of Thai Cyclists Honour the Memory of Peter Root and Mary Thompson

As a keen cyclist myself, it was sad to read about the death of British cyclists Peter Root and Mary Thompson. Even more so because they were cycling around the world and were killed here in Thailand when they were hit by a pick-up truck. According to their blog, Two on Four Wheels, they left home on 12th July 2011. During those 19 months, they survived through extreme weather and rebel gunfire. They were sadly killed shortly after reaching Thailand on a straight stretch of road in Chachoengsao Province. According to the driver’s own testimony, he bent down to pick up something and in that brief moment, he hit the two cyclists. At the weekend, hundreds of Thai cyclists visited the spot where they were killed to lay flowers. Click here to see more pictures.
