Birdwatching at Bang Pu Seaside Resort

Just beyond the 37 k.m. marker on Sukhumwit Road is the entrance way to Bang Pu Seaside Resort. It is the army’s rehabilitation and relaxation center but members of the public can also enter and enjoy its beautiful scenery. On the site are some gardens, a restaurant and a pier. From about October to March, literally thousands of seagulls flock to the area and the pier becomes a very popular place in the late afternoon with locals and people from Bangkok. At the weekend it can become very packed. I was there the other day and even though there were many gulls, I would say that there is a lot more to come. I will go again at the end of the month to take some more pictures. For more information about Samut Prakan, please visit www.Paknam.com
