A 15 Million Baht Embankment in Ayutthaya Collpases

A 60 meter long section of  an embankment along the Chao Phraya River in Ayutthaya has collapsed. According to the Bangkok Post, the newly built embankment is 60 meters long and cost 15 million Baht to build. Engineers say that the embankment was submerged by floodwaters in September and when it receded the waterlogged soil collapsed. Obviously this embankment only works if it doesn’t get wet!
