296 Brits Died in Thailand Last Year

The British Foreign Secretary William Hague is in Thailand at the moment and he tweeted a link to this interesting graphic showing statistics in Thailand for last year. Notice that 296 Brits died here in 2011. Now, before you start to panic and cancel your holiday, most of these deaths were elderly residents and not tourists.

Interesting to note that in his tweet he said that Consular operations in Thailand are the second largest in the world. I wonder if that is before or after they closed the consular section in Pattaya.
