Winter Arrives in Northern Thailand

Temperatures have started to drop in Northern Thailand as the rainy season approaches the end and we move into the Thai version of winter. By November we won’t get so much rain and then in December and January it is almost guaranteed to be no rain for much of Thailand. Northern Thailand gets the coldest weather due to the mountains. The lowest temperature recorded so far this season was 11.5 Celsius at Phu Luang wildlife sanctuary. In many places there has been a thick morning fog. This picture was tweeted this morning by @Thanchy_Rw from Chiang Khan in Loei Province. She reported that it was 23 Celsius at the time.

I have heard from Thai news 2 days ago that it is possible for this year we will have 1st snow in Chiang Rai. I don’t know if it’s true, but it could be great for Thai people who never see real snow before.
