“Paintings from the Bangkok Night” by Chris Coles

Chris Coles is probably the best known of the expressionist painters based in Thailand and his art exhibition called “Paintings from the Bangkok Night” is currently on show at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand (FCCT) in Bangkok. This special exhibition presents some of Chris Coles’ most recent large-format acrylic paintings of various scenes and some of the people who populate the Bangkok Night, ranging all the way from Ratchada to Thaniya Plaza, Surawong Boys Town, Soi Cowboy, Sukhumvit Soi 33, Nana Plaza and beyond.

In these pictures, Chris Coles (picture above on the left) is giving “Very Thai” author Philip Cornwel-Smith some background information about his paintings. The FCCT exhibition runs from now until 14 November 2012. The club is in the Penthouse of the Maneeya Center Building. The nearest skytrain station is BTS Chitlom.
