Iconic Picture from Last Year’s Flood

This is one of my favourite pictures taken during the big flood of 2011. It was shot exactly a year ago by a photographer from the Bangkok Post. It is a picture of a local man fishing in front of a Reclining Buddha in Ayutthaya. This is a good reminder that floods this year haven’t been that bad so far. We still have more to come in Bangkok as the run-off from up north usually arrives in October. But, there isn’t so much coming our way this year. Any serious flooding now really depends on how many big storms we get during the last month of the rainy season.
