Free Vegetarian Food at the Chinese Shrine

The Vegetarian Festival has started in Thailand. This means ten days of not eating any animals products. It’s not actually vegetarian as it is more like a strict vegan diet. You cannot even eat garlic. I will be taking part for ten days and you can follow me on Twitter @EnjoyThaiFood to see pictures of the food that I am eating. These are photos from my local shrine this afternoon. In the kitchen I saw this army of cooks preparing vegetarian food. You can eat here for free every day. The picture below is what I ate this afternoon. I always look forward to this festival.

I do respect you, even though you don’t need to join this festival as you are foreigner. đŸ™‚
