Be Careful of Motorcycle Snatch Thieves

While I was cycling around Bangkok the other day I came across quite a few of these notices warning pedestrians, in both English and Thai, the dangers of snatch thieves. This kind of thing happens nearly every evening and so it is something that you need to be careful about. However, according to most of the reports that I have seen, these incidents usually take place in the early hours of the morning at about 3 a.m. If you are walking along a road, be aware of your surroundings, keep your handbag on your shoulder away from the road and don’t update your Facebook status. If the worse come to the worse, give them what they want. They usually have a knife or gun and have been known to kill people. Even foreign tourists like what happened the other month in Phuket.

Hey we saw this sign right at Sathorn MRT station before the new Sofitel So Hotel. My wife wanted a photo of this “poster”! :) www.flickr.com/photos/kalboz/8085502023/
