Car Free Day in Bangkok

Judging by the pictures being tweeted today from the Car Free Day event in Bangkok everything went very well. An estimated 12,000 cyclists took part in the parade through Bangkok. As you can see, everyone was wearing either red, white or blue; the colours of the Thai national flag. Though there seems to be a yellow shirted person in this picture.  A special bike lane was provided for the route and the BTS allowed cyclists to go on the skytrain for free. I attended the Car Free Day event in Samut Prakan. Here there were nearly double the number of cyclists compared to last year. It is really great to see so many people on their bike these days. I hope this upward trend continues.
