Husband takes Wife Hostage on Rama 3 Road

This morning, a hostage situation took place on Rama III Road near the ramp to Krung Thep Bridge. The hostage drama, which went on for more than three hours, was played out live on TV during news bulletins. A man, who was said to be high on drugs, took his wife hostage and threatened her life with a long knife. The situation ended when policeman used a taser to subdue him. What happened next was caught on a video when hundreds of onlookers and media rushed him. Apparently he is now safe in police custody. His wife was taken to hospital with minor wounds.
